Ol Pejeta House has a rich and colourful history dating back to the 50s. It has seen Ol Pejeta Conservancy take on many roles – from colonial cattle farm to the largest black rhino sanctuary in east Africa, and a centre for conservation innovation. Ol Pejeta House has recently been awarded the Bravo Badge from TripAdvisor, after the 33rd traveller rated it ‘excellent’.
Ol Pejeta House was once the Ranch Manager’s home; back when the Conservancy started life as a cattle estate over 65 years ago. It was the setting for many a colonial party; with series of reception rooms, including an elegant drawing room with baronial fireplace and a number of scenic verandas, which extend right around the house. It is now under the management of Serena Hotels, who have made the mansion and its extensive grounds a luxury escape for visitors to the Conservancy.
Accommodation includes a private guest cottage, two master suites and two guest bedrooms, while the grounds include two private swimming pools and a barbeque and external dining area. The House has the stunning silhouette of Mt. Kenya as a backdrop, and is within easy reach of many of the Conservancies best game viewing spots.
