Black rhino Baraka lives in what used to be Morani’s 100-acre enclosure, carrying the flag for his predecessor. Baraka was born in the wild in Ol Pejeta, but lost sight in both eyes due to a fight and then a cataract. Baraka now lives in the enclosure, located next to the Morani Information Centre, for his own safety, and has taken to his new role as rhino ambassador.
Visitors can meet Baraka between 10.30am to 6.00pm any day of the week, and talk to his dedicated keepers. Baraka can be fed from the specially designed feeding platform that borders his enclosure – offering visitors a unique experience and a chance to get up close and personal to an adult black rhino.
Visitors to Ol Pejeta Conservancy have free access to the Morani Information Centre and to Baraka.
